The Cross Marketing Circle is an invitation only collaborative business event that brings together 5 – 10 complementary business people from either the same metro area or state in non-competitive fields to team up to support each others’ marketing efforts. They engage in high powered networking while laying the foundation for a mutually beneficial local, national and or international cross marketing campaign.

Why sell to one person at a time when you can collaborate with non-competitive companies who are already catering to your target audience? Participants of the Cross Marketing Circle will work together to funnel clients to each other while sharing the time and cost of marketing together on future projects to attract new female clients.

Once a territory is selected, Marketing 2 Women International issues a one time only invitation to business people in that area. They are given 5 business days to respond. The spots in the Cross Marketing Circle are on a first come first serve basis. After the reservations have been filled, the businesses will coordinate their schedules and go through an assessment process to determine the appropriate cross marketing project to showcase their businesses.

Jerrilynn B. Thomas, Founder of Marketing 2 Women International, will serve as facilitator for the Cross Marketing Circle as well as conduct the pre-event assessments. Jerrilynn has fine tuned her business partner matchmaking skills over the past 15+ years by giving small group workshops and networking events for business people with the desire to team up to generate a buzz.

Have you been trying to determine how to implement your online presence? Do you need guidance in what online tools you should use to develop your online presence? Then have I got some great ideas for you. As you can see in the image below, there are many online tools available to you that you can use as part of building your online presence.

When business owners start the process of developing their online presence, there are several things that you should keep in mind. Below is a short list of those things:

Determine what social media tools will help you develop a solid online presence.

Remember you don’t have to do it alone so be open to hiring a virtual assistance (VA) who specializes in social media or online presence development.

Research your industry to see what your competitors are using to create their online presence. Then develop your own plan with similar efforts.

Seek the advise of a mentor who understands your industry and can help guide you as you develop your online presence. Make sure that you ask for client references so that you can talk with them about how the mentor helped them be successful.

Be bold in your efforts and don’t be afraid of the “what-ifs”. Open up your mind to the different possibility of how you can grow your online presence.

As you keep these simple points in mind, then developing your online presence should flow smoothly. As you develop your business online presence, don’t be afraid to try things that unfamiliar. Such as implementing a social media plan to use Twitter or Facebook to advertise your business so you can connect with your target clients.

Just remember that when you use social media that “sharing” means that you should have a two-way communication going with your friends and followers. This means that you shouldn’t always “push” information out to them but that you should also comment on information that they may share. Make it a two-way dialogue which is part of what Penny Powers is communicating in the video below:

For those who didn’t know, WordPress has two different versions that are usually used by business owners to develop a website. There is the regular WordPress that you can download from WordPress.org or the multi-user version that you can download from MU.WordPress.org.

If you are looking to create a regular website where you will share your business information and brand your business, then a regular WordPress website would definitely work for you. On the other hand, if you are looking to expand your business web presence into multiple WordPress websites, then you might want to look into WordPress MU.

The biggest different between the two version is that with WordPress MU, you install once and then you can create multiple WordPress website all under the same domain name (ie., midwest.womenpartner.com, texas.womenpartner.com, womenpartner.com). Then when plugins need to be updated, when you update it on one site, it updates on the other sites. Examples of websites that have WordPress MU implemented are:

WordPress.com

WomenPartner.com (current website that was developed by Kim Beasley)

University of Maine

StarTribune.com Blogs

As you visited each of the WordPress MU websites, you might have noticed that they look just like a regular WordPress website. If you were to log into the backend of a WordPress MU website, you will also notice that you have additional options that you can set along with some that are not available due to security reasons (i.e., edit themes, edit plugins).

Although there are some options that are not available, the WordPress MU version is very powerful. There is even a plugin that will allow you to install each blog with its own domain name so that you don’t have to use the sub-domain web address for your blog that comes standard with a WordPress MU installation.

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. — Barack Obama

The world stopped on January 20 to watch the 44th president, Barack Obama, get sworn into office. During his speech he told everyone that we need to “pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work.” It is going to take all of us working together to fix this financial mess.

We have to start creating new opportunities for ourselves by effectively marketing our companies to boost our bottom-lines and outsourcing work so we can direct the flow of money into the women in business community. A lot of self-employed women have had to step up to the plate as the bread winner because their spouse has been laid off. It is more important than ever for us to cross market, engage in JVs, and form alliances.

Marketing 2 Women International and its partner companies are here to help you navigate through the recession. Contact us if we can be of service to you. Please post your introduction in the comment section.
